Starix Joins Hard Legions as a Coach
Following the ban by ESIC of their previous coach Aleksandr "MechanoGun" Bogatiryev for the bug abuse, the Russian team Hard Legion decided to also fire their second coach Erik "AKIMOV" Akimov and bring in a new sporting director – Sergey "starix" Ischuk.
Starix is a former Counter Strike 1.6 and CS:GO player, who played for Natus Vincere between 2010 and 2015. After ending his playing career, he remained in the organization for another two successful years as a coach. Since then he coached multiple smaller teams without much success, among which are Team Spirit, k1ck eSports, Runtime.gg and others.
Earlier ESL reported that MechanoGun used the camera bug during 3 matches at ESL One Road to Rio – there they qualified for playoffs over Natus Vincere and reached the semifinals, placing 3rd and receiving 1400 RMR points. Although the team was retroactively disqualified from the event and forced to forfeit their prize money and ESL Pro Tour points, they were allowed to keep the RMR points. Currently the team takes the fourth place in the CIS rating and is among the participants of the final RMR event of the current circuit, IEM XV – New York Online, which will begin in five weeks.
