League of Legends Patch 10.18 Introduces Significant Changes to Ahri and Kayle

Tonight League of Legends was updated to version 10.18, the patch is focused on balancing of champions. Two of them – Ahri and Kayle – have received significant changes to their kits.

Ahri:

Ahri’s old passive removed and replaced with an improved version of the Q passive. The additional movement speed was moved from the passive to W. On top of it, W now deals increased damage to low-health minions and has a better targeting.

  • [Passive] Vasatayan Grace: Ahri no longer gains 20% bonus movement speed for 3 seconds when she lands 2 ability hits against a champion within 1.5 seconds. Instead, Ahri gains an Essence Theft stack for each enemy hit by her abilities, up to a maximum of 3 per cast, and storing up to 9 at once. Upon reaching 9 stacks of Essence Theft, Ahri's next spell consumes the stacks to heal Ahri for 3/5/9/18 (levels 1/6/11/16) (+0.09 ability power) for each enemy hit.
  • [W] Fox-Fire: Now grants a burst of 40% movement speed decaying over 1.5 seconds at cast and deals 200% damage to minions below 20% health. Targeting now better prioritizes low health minions that can be killed by Fox-Fire after champion. Cooldown increased from 9/8/7/6/5 to 10/9/8/7/6 seconds, manacost increased from 40 to 55 mana.

Kayle

Changes to Kayle are focused on the champion’s mana management – while her E no longer requires any mana, Q no longer rosters mana and W got a manacost increase.

  • [Q] Radiant Blast: No longer restores 50% of the mana cost for each enemy champion hit.
  • [W] Celestial Blessing: Manacost increased from 70/80/90/100/110 to 90/100/110/120/130 mana.
  • [E] Starfire Spellblade: Now doesn’t require mana to cast, missile speed increased from 2000 to 5000.

The update also includes smaller buffs for Jarvan IV, Miss Fortune, and Rumble, as well as nerfs for Ashe, Galio and Kog’Maw. The full list of changes can be found on the official website.

Earlier this week RIOT Games revealed the next champion of the game – Samira, the Desert Rose. You can check her trailer and abilities descriptions here.
