Invites for IEM XVI Winter Revealed

ESL have revealed eleven teams that received direct invites to their December event IEM Winter 2021. Among them are six partnered teams, as well as five teams based on the ESL World Rating. They are following:

• Partner Teams: G2 Esports, Team Vitality, FaZe Clan, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Astralis, Team Liquid
• ESL World Rating: Gambit Esports, Heroic, Virtus.pro, OG, BIG

Besides the invited teams mentioned above, the tournament’s line-up will also consist of five winners of regional qualifiers. GODSENT and TyLoo have already emerged victorious in the North American and Asian qualifiers respectively.

The final three participants will be determined via European qualifiers (October 18th – 19th). There Complexity, ENCE, mousesports and Team Spirit will compete with four winners of open qualifiers.

Intel Extreme Masters XVI – Winter is a LAN-event scheduled for December 2nd – 12th. It will feature a $250,000 prize pool and be part of Intel Grand Slam. The tournament’s location remains unknown.
