IEM New York 2020 is the Fall RMR Event North for America and CIS

ESL have announced Intel Extreme Masters: New York 2020, an online CS:GO event with $250,000 at stake. The tournament will be held in Europe, North America and CIS. The latter two division will also have the status of the Regional Major Rankings events.

The event will begin on October 6th. The European division will feature 8 teams competing for a $140,000 prize pool, while both North America and CIS will have 12 team competing for $60,000 and $50,000 respectively. While none of the participants of the European region were revealed, we have the lists of invited teams for the other two regions. They look as follows:

  • North America: Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses, Gen.G Esports, Cloud9, FURIA, MIBR, 100 Thieves, TRIUMPH
  • CIS: Team Spirit, Natus Vincere, Virtus.pro, Nemiga, Hard Legion, Winstrike, Gambit Youngsters, Espada

The rest of the participants of these divisions will be determined through the closed qualifiers scheduled for August 14th – 18th. Among confirmed participants for North American qualifier are Team Envy, Chaos E.C. and Team One, while the CIS qualifier will have Syman, forZe, pro100 and Ethereal.

Besides that, Valve have revealed the organizers of the other fall RMR events – DreamHack will organize the event in the Europe, while Perfect World and Omelete & Co. will held the tournaments in Asia and South America respectively.

The Regional Major Rankings will determine participants of the only major CS:GO event of the season – ESL One: Rio 2020, which is planned to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on October 9th – 22nd, featuring 24 teams competing for a $2,000,000 prize pool.
