Haksal Leaves NYXL And Ends his Overwatch Player Career

New York Excelsior have announced that Hyojong "Haksal" Kim is no longer part of their roster, as the 19-years-old Korean player has decided to retire from Overwatch League. It is unknown if he will continue competing in an another discipline.

Haksal was a flex DPS player, whose main signature hero was Genji. The player starter his career in 2016, playing for a Korean team RunAway. Later in 2018 he was signed by Vancouver Titans, with whom he managed to place second at Overwatch League 2019. This summer he transferred to New York Excelsior and helped the team to place 3rd at Overwatch League 2020 – Asia Playoffs, being one step away from qualifying for the Grand Finals.

After the defeat in the Asian playoffs, Haksal in a Twitter post expressed dissatisfaction with his performance and promised to show better results next season. He also decided to take a break from Overwatch due to a lack of motivation. Recently the player resumed his streams on Twitch, mainly playing League of Legends.
